Last summer I hosted an intimate dinner in my urban backyard. Inspired by my love for outdoor living rooms, I incorporated indoor furniture with my backyard garden and of course – made some bunting.
How to make it
Step 1: Tablescape: I used two long and thin tables for the dining area and covered them in white tablecloths. Due to limited space, I kept the table decor simple with single flowers in mason jars.

Step 2: Bunting: No party is complete without bunting. I found my favorite pieces of scrap materials and upcycled some old pyjamas to create this 27ft long bunting. I strung it on 3 different colored ribbons to add a touch of whimsy.

Step 3: Chandelier: Obviously an outdoor dining room needs a chandelier! I picked this one up at Value Village, gave it a new coat of paint and in the evening used it as a candle holder. Underneath it, I set up a small champagne table with vintage glasses.

Step 4: Living Room: I created a pre-dinner (and post-dinner) sitting space with my favorite couch, a side table, several lamps (which were plugged in) and an upcycled pallet coffee table.

How do I get an invite?
