DIY Aquarium

Jenny and Lucas visit an aquarium to find out what sharks really eat (spoiler: it’s not humans). Back in the craft space, they use this new found knowledge to create their very own aquarium.

Materials

  • Shadowbox side table - http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/70278103/
  • Blue paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Aquarium ornaments, decals, pebbles, seashells, etc
  • Plastic sharks and fish
  • Plastic handles
  • Super Glue
  • Magnets – look for magnet pairs that have separated north and south poles (i.e. on separate magnets as opposed to one side north and one side south, neo dydiums/earth magnets are best)

How to make it

Step 1: Paint inside of shadowbox and allow to dry overnight

Step 2: Glue magnets on to plastic sharks/fish and handles, and allow to dry overnight

Step 3: Decorate the aquarium

Step 4: Place plastic shark inside and use handles under the box to move the sharks around the aquarium

Step 5: Have fun!
