Materials

  • a vintage bed frame
  • 2 pallets
  • a chopped up desk
  • a few unused shelves & MDF boards

How to make it

Step 1: First I ventured up to the attic and scrounged all of the hoarded wood I could find

Step 2: The pallets were attached together in an ‘L’ shape. The sturdy wooden shelves were secured to the top of the lower pallet to create the playhouse floor and the MDF board nailed to the upper pallet for the interior back wall.

Step 3: The vintage bed frame had a two-piece headboard that made absolutely perfect side walls just as they were – no measuring or cutting required, hooray!

Step 4: The solid wooden bedrails were cut to size and then added to the sides as roof supports.

Step 5: The roof was created from 3 old wardrobe doors stacked and cut to size.

Step 6: One of the footboards from the bed frame added to the front.

Step 7: A coat of leftover all weather blue paint to fancy it up and some furnishings
