This project gave an old and dated coffee table a completely new life with a relatively simple DIY using black and white tiles you can easily find at the hardware store.

Materials

• black & white 1" square tiles
• tile adhesive
• tile grout
• tile cutter (if necessary)

How to make it

Step 1: after measuring your table to determine how many tiles you need, lay out your pattern with the tiles to make sure it all works

Step 2: working in sections, remove the tiles, apply adhesive and replace the tiles

Step 3: let the adhesive set for 24 hours then apply grout. Apply a generous amount over the tiles, making sure it gets into all the lines.

Step 4: Wipe with damp sponge and let dry for another 24 hours.
