Turn an old painting or drawing into a brand new “paint by numbers” masterpiece.
Materials
- Choose your painting (florals and landscapes are the easiest to tackle for A first time project)
- Acrylic craft paint
- Acrylic sealer/Finisher Glossy
How to make it
Step 1: In this project, there is no blending together of colors. They are more like blobs with very defined edges. The more colors you use the more complex (and time consuming) the painting will be. You can combine similar shades of a color. For instance, if there are 5 different tints of yellow near each other in the original painting, then combine all 5 into one yellow for your Paint by Number, unless you want it more detailed.

Step 2: Pick a main color and begin painting over the original by using defined edges (blobs) If your picture has many colors, take a step back and see what the strongest ones are, then begin with painting those areas. For this project more colors were added than in the original and a lot brighter ones.
Step 3: Continue on until the entire painting is covered. For this painting, the top background was left untouched.

Step 4: Once all the painting is done, spray an Acrylic Sealer over the entire thing. This sealer was glossy to give it some shimmer.
