Eight of our friends rented a cottage backing onto the Salmon River near Roblin, Ontario this weekend. When we get together we share awesome meals, drink a lot of coffee and sparkling wine. For our brunch table we were inspired by the incredible autumn colors exploding everywhere around us.
With coffee mugs in hand we went for a walk and came back with a grocery bag filled with colorful grasses, flowers, seeds, berries, and cattails. We set up an outside table overlooking the river and went to work designing center pieces for our table using the empty sparkling wine and champagne bottles from the previous few days.
This is a really simple project that adults and children can get involved in. It brings the beautiful outdoors inside and the best part is – it costs absolutely nothing… well except for the sparkling wine but you were going to serve that at brunch anyway right?
