I’ve been looking for more upcycling DIYs lately and this one seemed pretty simple. My favourite part was brainstorming how to make it my own. I wanted to add my own touch by adding the nautical knots and the chalk board label.
Materials
- 48 oz coffee can
- spray paint
- burlap
- rope
- chalkboard labels
- glue gun
How to make it
Step 1: Clean off the coffee can and remove and labels or glue.
Step 2: Spray paint the can and a piece of burlap any colours of your choice.
Step 3: Once the spray paint has dried, make two holes near the top of the can using a hammer and nail.
Step 4: Take a piece of rope and tie it into a knot.
Step 5: Using more of the rope, glue it to the burlap in the centre. Attach the knot at the end.
Step 6: Glue the burlap around the middle of the can.
Step 7: Place a chalkboard label near the top.
Step 8: String some rope through the holes near the top, make knots at the end so they don't slip out. Now you have a handle!
Step 9: Add a plant and enjoy!
