Makeful Challenge: Cellphone Cases

DIY cellphone case

I knew I wanted to handletter something on the case and “Makers gonna make” just seemed very fitting for the maker community.

Materials

  • Clear cell phone case
  • Piece of white paper
  • Pencil
  • White marker (I used a chalk marker because I have a lot of them on hand and it seemed to work well)

How to make it

Step 1: Sketch out your design on a piece of paper. Then trace your image backwards on the opposite side of the paper. Holding it up to some sort of light will help if you don't have tracing paper.

Step 2: Place the cellphone case (outside part down) over the backwards design that you just traced and start tracing that with your white marker. Let dry and your personalized one of a kind case is complete!

Step 3: For an added touch, add a piece of paper in a fun pattern to your case. You will still be able to see your handlettered design and it can easily be removed whenever you want to change it up. I just traced my case on a piece of card stock and then cut inside the lines and popped it into my cellphone case.
