Making it in the Mountains

Use an antique shop find to create this amazing planter made from an old window! All it needed was a coat of paint to give it the update it deserved.

Materials

  • Old window
  • Paint (color of your choice)
  • Paint scraper
  • Wood
  • Nail gun
  • Chain & screws

How to make it

Step 1: Wipe down the old window and paint it- color of your choice.

Step 2: Instead of taping around each of the panes of glass, just paint normally and then use a paint scraper to remove the paint once it's dry.

Step 3: Cut down some wood to size for the window box (make the box about 6 inches longer on either sides of the window).

Step 4: Using a nail gun put together the loose boards into a box without a lid measuring 4" long x 7" deep x 5 1/2" high.

Step 5: Paint the window box the same color.

Step 6: Secure a chain on the back of the window with a couple of screws to hang it with.
