Our local charity shop has a take-it-or-it-goes-in-the-rubbish box just inside the front door and on a recent thrifting expedition I literally tripped over a groovy patchwork leather purse dangling over the edge of the box – the perfect ingredient for an upcycling project that had been circling my refashionista brain: diy mini book pendants!

Materials

• a mini-drill (a long nail & hammer will do in a pinch)
• exacto knife
• scissors
• wire
• paint brush
• leftover book pages (or paper from the recycling bin)
• glue
• pliers
• clamps or clothespins
• a few scraps of leather
