Adding matcha tea (powdered green tea) to an already delicious and creamy shortbread recipes created a beautiful, naturally green treat for St. Patrick’s Day. The flavor change is subtle and I varied the matcha to intensify the green hue. I made a batch that were plain and round but, I swear, even though the recipe is identical, the batch that I cut out with a four leaf clover shaped cookie cutter and painstakingly added leaf detail to just tastes BETTER!
