Getting outside and exploring is often the best way to begin when you’re staring at an empty canvas (tote bag). This tote-ally awesome bag was inspired by small, cramped, floor to ceiling, downtown fabric shops. You walk inside, get lost, and usually have no idea what you are going to come out with. Something about this fabric really jumped out at me. The colours and the geometric shapes were the starting point to this project… the rest sort of just evolved :) This technique can be done with any fabric by using the fabric’s patterns (whatever they may be) to create new and interesting shapes and patterns!
