Makeful Challenge: Cellphone Cases from Louise Scott

Washi Tape Bunting Cell Phone Case

Louise Scott

I am fabric obsessed and love to make bunting as it’s a great way to showcase pretty fabric. When I got married three years ago I spent hours sewing over 130 feet of bunting to decorate our venue. So when this Makeful challenge came up I had a lot of ideas but bunting kept trumping the others. I used very plain washi tape but this project would look great with cute patterned tape as well.

Materials

  • Washi tape
  • Card Stock
  • String
  • Clear cell phone case
  • Scissors
  • Tape

How to make it

Step 1: Trace your cellphone case onto card stock and cut it out. Put it aside for now.

Step 2: Cut a piece of string just larger than the width of your cellphone. Then cut three pieces of washi tape about 1.5 inches long. Fold each washi tape in half around the string. Snip your washi tape into a triangle.
Repeat this step twice more.

Step 3: Wrap each end of one string of bunting around the back of the card stock and tape the ends down. Repeat with the other two strings.

Slide the card stock into the cellphone case and voila!
